About AHI

WHERE
MEETS
AHI grew out of the idea that our clients need a combination of expertise, practical guidance, and a willingness to tackle the real barriers to success. Our experts have served as senior leaders, themselves, and as trusted advisors to administrative and physician leaders – for decades.
Our data and strategic expertise is supported by our deep experience with creating a shared vision, engaging leaders and staff, building relationships, aligning goals, and empowering effective leaders and teams – the hard work that many consulting firms avoid.

If you don’t have effective leadership and a culture of collaboration and teamwork, the best strategic plans can fall short.

The AHI Service Line Approach

AHI breaks silos and sees the big picture. We understand the nuances of each care site and the importance of integrating key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Our pragmatic, inclusive approach to service line strategy development considers the myriad of real-world concerns and challenges of all participants, ensuring we help you to develop a strategy that sticks…and that is implementable.

“AHI came to the rescue – helping us to negotiate an exit strategy from a failed partnership. We needed a firm that provides expertise and can find a commonsense strategy, even when the situation is incredibly complex. Kristi has been an invaluable asset. She is part of our team now!”

Heather Hayes
VP, SERVICE LINE STRATEGIES

Heather is a healthcare strategist with a strong operational acumen.  She has deep experience in the executive strategy suite, and has developed and implemented hundreds of service line initiatives throughout her career.  Her commitment to seeing processes through completion has delivered success to the organizations she has worked with in her 20+ year career.

Prior to joining AHI, Heather was a Vice President of Operational Performance and Transformation for Proactive MD, a total health care and population health management organization offering advanced primary care health and onsite wellness centers at member companies.

Prior to that, Heather held several roles for Prisma Health System, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Services where she was responsible for strategic planning, business development, marketing and communications, public relations, partnerships and affiliations, and facilities development.  Heather’s impact while at Prisma ranged from delivering tremendous cost savings to ensuring market competitiveness by working with key stakeholders across the organization to transition price-sensitive services to freestanding platforms. She developed and supported the implementation of service line strategies across Prisma’s submarkets, leaning in to support the implementation to ensure their success. She was also critical in evaluating potential partnership strategies as they related to those initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Heather held leadership positions at Wake Forest Baptist Health where she managed implementation teams, ensured alignment of priorities and strategies across service lines, and represented the voice of the organization in public forums.

Heather holds her Master of Health Administration degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from South Carolina Honors College.

Heather lives in Greenville, South Carolina and is active in her local Rotary Club, YMCA, and is active in her local church.
