Kristi founded Ambulatory Healthcare Innovations to address the challenges providers face in integrating services across the care continuum, and to facilitate adoption of innovative but pragmatic strategies.
Prior to founding AHI, Kristi was a Principal at Sg2 for 7 years where she led Orthopedics research and forecasting as well as enterprise and service line strategy projects. Prior to that, Kristi spent 6 years developing and implementing service line strategic plans in multi-year engagements for clients of Accelero Health Partners, a subsidiary of Zimmer, Inc.
A healthcare connector and passionate advocate for the patient experience, Kristi has leveraged her clinical, management, and consulting experience to assist hundreds of health systems and thousands of providers balance their growth, outcomes, and financial goals in the context of the evolving and future healthcare landscape, resulting in multi-million dollar performance improvement efforts and cultural transformation for her clients.
Kristi earned her MPT degree from the University of North Dakota. Nine years ago, she founded and continues to lead a national group of healthcare leaders focused on advancing healthcare. She can be found presenting at national healthcare conferences such as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, sharing her experiences and insights in industry publications and as a mentor for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Heather is a healthcare strategist with a strong operational acumen. She has deep experience in the executive strategy suite, and has developed and implemented hundreds of service line initiatives throughout her career. Her commitment to seeing processes through completion has delivered success to the organizations she has worked with in her 20+ year career.
Prior to joining AHI, Heather was a Vice President of Operational Performance and Transformation for Proactive MD, a total health care and population health management organization offering advanced primary care health and onsite wellness centers at member companies.
Prior to that, Heather held several roles for Prisma Health System, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Services where she was responsible for strategic planning, business development, marketing and communications, public relations, partnerships and affiliations, and facilities development. Heather’s impact while at Prisma ranged from delivering tremendous cost savings to ensuring market competitiveness by working with key stakeholders across the organization to transition price-sensitive services to freestanding platforms. She developed and supported the implementation of service line strategies across Prisma’s submarkets, leaning in to support the implementation to ensure their success. She was also critical in evaluating potential partnership strategies as they related to those initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Heather held leadership positions at Wake Forest Baptist Health where she managed implementation teams, ensured alignment of priorities and strategies across service lines, and represented the voice of the organization in public forums.
Heather holds her Master of Health Administration degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from South Carolina Honors College.
Heather lives in Greenville, South Carolina and is active in her local Rotary Club, YMCA, and is active in her local church.
